    Graduate Research Assistant

    Emily Peters hails from South Carolina. In 2020, Emily moved to Kelly, WY where she pursued a graduate certificate in placed-based education from the Teton Science School graduate program. Emily continued her graduate career with the Haub School of Environment and Natural Resources at the University of Wyoming, where she worked as a graduate assistant in Corrie Knapp’s climate adaptation lab. For her thesis, Emily conducted a qualitative research project regarding the effects of climate change-related hazard impacts on underserved and rural communities across Wyoming and participant-informed considerations for future climate adaptation work in the state. Emily graduated in the fall of 2023 and works part-time as a graduate research aide, assisting the Wyoming Agricultural Technical Service Provider Climate and Weather Needs Assessment with the University of Wyoming Extension Service. She is now working towards starting a career in climate-related work with grassroots conservation organizations.
