The Intermountain West Current Wildfires and Smoke Forecast Map provides current wildfire location and areal extent alongside the current smoke forecast for the Western Water Assessment region in support of the NOAA Regional Integrated Sciences and Assessments (RISA) mission. This map uses the ArcGIS platform to retrieve live data from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Climate Resilience Information System (CRIS) (https://cris.climate.gov/).

Source Data: Wildfire locations are sourced from the Integrated Reporting of Wildland-Fire Information (IWRIN) and perimeters are sourced from the National Interagency Fire Center (NIFC). 48-Hour smoke forecasts are sourced from the National Digital Forecast Database (NDFD) and the National Weather Service (NWS).
