Emma Galofré García is a Ph.D. Student in the Environmental Studies Department at the University of Colorado Boulder. Emma has experience in both natural and social sciences, including studying oceanographic influences on seabird ecology as well as investigating the motivations of family forest owners to seek conservation easements. Currently, Emma is working with WWA to utilize semi-structured interviews and thematic analysis to investigate how compound hazards, especially impacts of drought and water scarcity around recreational spaces, influence sense of place, and how shifts in sense of place impact adaptive capacity in locations experiencing change. Emma is also committed to diversity, equity, justice, and inclusion (DEJI) within and outside her focus areas, including in the conservation and academic communities. Emma currently serves as an individual member of Next 100 Colorado, a member of the Climate Council with Hispanic Access Foundation and as an Outings Leader with Latino Outdoors.
