May 2, 2005 - From Secretary of the Interior to Basin States

Secretary of the Interior Gale Norton announced her decision to maintain Colorado River water releases from Lake Powell at their scheduled level for the next five months because drought conditions in the Colorado River Basin have eased during the 2005 water year.

August 25, 2005 - From Basin States to Secretary of Interior

The seven basin states pledged to work together and come up with a plan for managing the Colorado River reservoir system in times of drought.

February 3, 2006 - From Basin Sates ro Secretary of Interior

The seven basin states drafted a Preliminary Proposal of new guidelines for Colorado River Interim Operations (both shortage and surplus).
