Forecast Verification Workshop
February 19, 2008
Center Green Facility, NCAR, Boulder, Colorado
Main Auditorium, Building CG-1

Overview
This workshop is designed to provide users of any kind of climate forecast with the tools to evaluate the overall quality of the forecast. The workshop will emphasize water supply forecasts in the Western United States but the concepts will be applicable to other kinds of forecasts including NOAA’s official Climate Prediction Center forecasts for temperature and precipitation and experimental forecasts issued by Klaus Wolter of the Western Water Assessment. Presenters will include some of the key developers of streamflow forecasts for Colorado as well as Western Water Assessment personnel. New online interactive tools to allow water supply professionals to gage forecast quality will be demonstrated and used by participants.
